I believe that the most fitting answer for this question would be being able to detect someone's emotions simply by looking in their eyes. The Romantics were a very emotional group of writers and believed in the power of the human soul. Being able to tell what someone is feeling simply by looking into their eyes is certainly a very Romantic idea. Hope this helps.
