A new statue of the town founder is erected in the park. At the unveiling, the statue is a orange-brown copper. After a year, the statue looks blue-green. Has a physical or chemical change taken place?

Chemical change because it cannot be reverted to its original state like a physical change would be able to, and also it reached with the atmosphere and water.

Chemical change because it cannot be reverted to its original state like a physical change would be able to, and also it reached with the atmosphere and water.

Step-by-step explanation:

The Statue was made of copper. When copper is revealed to oxygen it oxidizes. The result is the lovely patina we now see.

Patina refers to the aging process of covering structures. In bronze, a film is left on the surface. A chemical change (chemical reaction) is a change of stuff into other, new materials with different properties, and one or more new elements are formed.
