Why does ice stay at the top of oceans instead of sinking to the bottom?. . Ice is colder than liquid water.. . Ice is warmer than liquid water.. . Ice is more dense than liquid water.. . Ice is less dense than liquid water.

Ice is less dense than liquid water. This is the reason why the cubes
float in your soda, and bergs float in the ocean.

Water is one of a very very few substances that have this peculiar behavior.
If it didn't, then the oceans would freeze from the bottom up, and life could
not exist on Earth.
