Architect Frank Lloyd Wright included a pool shaped like a right triangle in his design of Taliesin West in Scottsdale, Arizona. The sides of the pool that represent the legs measure 41 ft and 40 ft. Calculate the perimeter of the pool. Round the answer to the nearest foot.

(a * a) + (b*b) = (c*c)
P = (41 x 41) + (40 x 40)
= 1681 + 1600
= (3281) (3281)
=10764961 ~ 11 million ft

We are given a pool shaped like a right triangle where the two legs are measured 41 ft and 40 ft. We are asked for the perimeter of the pool. To answer this, we determine first the hypotenuse of the triangle. The hypotenuse is equal to
\sqrt{ 41^(2) +40^(2) }. Hypotenuse is equal to 57.28 ft. The perimeter is equal to 41 + 40 + 57.28 ft, 138.28 ft.
