Add

-9 + 6 = -3
Divide by 2

-1.5

2) -1 + 7 = 6 / 2 = 3 ; 3 + -1 = 2 / 2 = 1

(3, 1)

By definition, the midpoint is given by:

m = ((x1+x2)/(2), (y1+y2)/(2))

Part A:
For the line segment we have:

m = (-9+6)/(2)

m= (-3)/(2)

m = -1.5
Answer:
the coordinate of the midpoint of the segment is:
B. -1.5

Part B:
For line segment HX we have:

m = ((-1+7)/(2), (3-1)/(2))

m = ((6)/(2), (2)/(2))

m = (3,1)
Answer:
the coordinates of the midpoint of the segment is:
A. (3,1)
