y= 3 -x (1)

3x + 4y = 1 (2)

Substitute (1) for y in (2)

3x + 4(3 - x) = 1

Expand, simplify and then solve for x

3x + 12 - 4x = 1
3x - 4x = 1 -12
-x = -11

x = 11

Answer:

The required value of x = 11

Explanation:

The system of equations are given to be :

y = 3 - x .......(1)

3x + 4y = 1 ......(2)

We need to find the value of x by solving these two given system of equations

So, To solve the given equations : Putting value of y from equation (1) into equation (2)

⇒ 3x + 4y = 1

⇒ 3x + 4(3 - x) = 1

⇒ 3x + 12 - 4x = 1

⇒ -x = 1 - 12

⇒ -x = -11

⇒ x = 11

Thus, The required value of x = 11
