8 ounces because 1 pound is equivalent to 16 ounces and two pounds is 32 ounces. if you subtract 24 ounces from 32 you get 8 ounces.

2 pounds of bricks
1 pound = 16 ounces
2 pound = 32 ounces
32 ounces > 24 ounces
therefore, the 32 ounces (or 2 pounds) of bricks weighs more
