Jason and Adam are using a kit to build their own electronics board for a computer project. They use a scale drawing included in the instructions to help build the board. Jason will use the scale factor to find the board's actual length and width, then multiply those dimensions to find the board's area. Adam says he knows another way. Scale drawing of the electronics board Scale factor 51 38 cm 50 cm Answer the questions to show how Adam could find the area of the scale drawing, and then use this strategy to find the area of the electronics board. 1. Area of the board shown on the scale drawing

We know that the area of a rectangle is given by the multiplication of its sides:

area = side 1 x side 2

Let's say that the sides of the scale drawing are:

side 1 = 50 cm

side 2 = 36 cm

Then, the area is given by

area = 50 cm x 36 cm

area = 1800 cm²

The area of the board shown on the scale drawing is 1800 cm²
