The Virginia Company was a company that aimed to establish settlements on the Coast of America and was founded by King James I of England.

The risk of losing money from a failing expedition was shared because the company sold stocks to create expeditions. This means that if the expedition failed all shareholders would lose the money invested, but if it had profits, everybody would get money from it.

The Virginia Company was the one responsible for founding the Jamestown Colony.

for the virginia company, the risk of losing money from a failed expedition was shared : By all stock owners.
Despite the great risks, a of investors still wanted to be involved in the expedition because it could potentially brought them a great amount of fortune if the expedition was successful

hope this helps
