Answer:

-3

Explanation:

If you plug in the numbers you are given your equation will look like this:

-(-5) + (-8) =?

The negative outside the parentheses of the five and the negative inside the parentheses of the 5 will cancel each other out so now your equation will look like this:

5+(-8)=?

It can also be written like this:

5-8=?

And 5-8=-3

I hope this helps, and have a great day!

Answer:

-b+c= -3

Explanation:

first, you plug the given numbers in the expression.

-b+c = ?

-(-5) + (-8)

two negatives cancel out and make a positive, so now you have a positive 5 instead of a negative 5

5+(-8)

when added together, you get -3

5+(-8)=-3

i hope this helps!
