Equation for a dilution :

C₁ x V₁ = C₂ x V₂

4.0 x V₁ = 2.5 x 4.5

4.0 x V₁ = 11.25

V₁ = 11.25 / 4.0

V₁ = 2.8 L

hope this helps!

Answer:

2.8L

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the dilution formular

C1 V1= C2V2

Where

C1= concentration of the stock solution= 4.0M

V1= volume of stock solution required= ???

C2= concentration to be prepared= 2.5M

V2= volume of prepared solution required= 4.5L

4.0× V1= 2.5×4.5

V1= 2.5 ×4.5/4.0

V1= 2.8L
