Timmy went out for a walk. He walked 1/2 of a mile and then sat down to rest. After a few minutes. Timmy got up and walked 3/8 mile. How far did he walk in total?

1st time covered 1/2
2nd time covered 3/8

hence=1/2+3/8
=7/8
