A 2000 kg car experiences a constant braking. force of 10,000 N, and comes to be a stop in 6. sec.. What would be the distance traveled by the. car in coming to rest?

Given:

F = Force = 10000N
m = mass = 2000kg
t = time = 6 seconds
a = acceleration = ?

Using the formula: F = ma

10000 = 2000(a)
a = 5 m/s^2

Using the formula: Vf = Vo + at
Where: Vf = final velocity = 0
Vo = initial velocity = ?

0 = Vo + 5(6)
Vo = 30 m/s

Using the formula: s = (1/2)(Vf + Vo)(t)
s = (1/2)(30 + 0)(6)
s = 90

Therefore, the car would have traveled a distance of 90m before coming to rest.
