What is the greatest possible integer value of x for which square root of √x-5 is an imaginary number

The greatest of must be less than five .i.e 4

√(4-5) = √(-1)

The correct answer for this question is 4.

We have to bear in mind that any number should be less than 5 to make the square root be an imaginary number.
Starting with 4
= square root (4 - 5)
= square root (-1)
= imaginary
