The correct answer would be simple details. A compare and contrast essay should not identify simple details. You do not need to identify simplistic details in a compare and contrast essay unless these details convey a deeper meaning. Simple details are just very simple and easily understood and need not to be compared with anything. Such as "dogs and cats are animals".
