The image of the point (4, -9) under a translation is (9, -14). Find the coordinatesof the image of the point (-9, -8) under the same translation.

Given that the point (4, -9) is translated to (9, -14).

To get the rule of translation as below:


\begin{gathered} 4+x=9 \\ x=9-4 \\ x=5 \\ -9+y=-14 \\ y=-14+9 \\ y=-5 \end{gathered}

Then the translation is under the rule of translation below:


(x,y)\rightarrow(x+5,y-5)

The coordinates of the image of the point (-9, -8) using the rule above would be:


\begin{gathered} (-9,-8)\rightarrow(-9+5,-8-5)_{} \\ (-9,-8)\rightarrow(-4,-13) \end{gathered}

Hence, the coordinates of the image of the point (-9, -8) under the same translation as above is (-4, -13)
