If it is reflected across the Y axis, the Y values stay constant (If it is a singular point), but the X values become negative.

For this, (2,-1) becomes (-2,-1)

Answer:

Explanation:

The given point p ( 2, -1 ) lies in 4th quadrant and we have been asked to find the new coordinates of point p when reflected by y-axis.

If we consider y-axis as a mirror then image of point p will lie in third quadrant and coordinates will be in the form of ( -x, -y ).

So image of point p will be p'(-2, -1).
