What happens when an electron moves from a high energy level to a lower one?

B. It emits light and energy is released and photon is created.

The electron or metallic ion emits different colored lights depending on what end of the spectrum it's on. Another cause of the colored flames is what kind of substance you are burning (Calcium Nitrate, Potassium Nitrate, etc...)
