In a parallel circuit the equivalent resistance is given by:


(1)/(R_(tot))=(1)/(R_1)+(1)/(R_2)

Plugging the resistances we have that:


\begin{gathered} (1)/(R_(tot))=(1)/(10)+(1)/(5) \\ (1)/(R_(tot))=(5+10)/(50) \\ (1)/(R_(tot))=(15)/(50) \\ (1)/(R_(tot))=(3)/(10) \\ R_(tot)=(10)/(3) \\ R_(tot)=3.33 \end{gathered}

Therefore, the equivalent resistance is 3.33 Ω
