the equations are

y = x -14

y = x + 12

now we will evaluate the slope of both the line

for

y = x - 14

compare it with standard form of line

y = mx + C

here m is the slope of line

so for y = x - 14 the slope is coefficient of x

that is m = 1

now for

y = x + 12

m = 1

both the slopes are equal

so the both lines will be parallel to each other.
