Answer:

To explain the relationship between scientific though and Latin American cultural superstitions.

Step-by-step explanation:

Magic realism is a genre of writing literature that incorporates themes of magic, 'fairy-tales', 'super-naturalism' or divine intervention themes that may seem to be out of character for the real world. Added to this magic theme is the infusion of realistic themes in the story.

Latin American literature consists of the oral as well as the traditional stories of the native people. They were originally written in the native languages of the indigenous people. Their stories are conventionally tales that includes myths, fables and even allegorical allusions. The literatures of these region are mostly incorporated with the themes of magic and realistic themes, as their culture also have so many references to the supernatural elements. The presence of magic or supernatural elements in an otherwise realistic world shows their veneration of the spiritual as well as 'outer-world'. Even their cultures and traditions are infused with the themes of the spiritual aspect of the world, giving great importance and place in their daily lives. They also hold a special belief in the existence of the world where the spirits of the dead stay and hold a festival called "The Day of the Dead" where the families of the dead persons hold a special ritual for their deceased relatives.
