eddie drinks 12 ounces of water before running and then another 8 ounces each time he runs a mile. Find the number of miles he runs each day if he drinks less than 60 ounces of water when he runs.

Answer:

Explanation:

Your equation would be set up like so:

Y= 8X+12

Then plug in your Y value

60 > 8x+12

Subtract 12

48 > 8x

Divide by 8

x > 6

He runs less than 6 miles a day if he drinks less than 60oz of water. If he drank 60oz TOTAL, he would have run 6 miles TOTAL. (hence why there's no equal sign).
