Total surface area of a triangular prism = width x height +(sum of sides + width) x length
= (16 x 6) + (10 + 10 + 16) x 12
= 96 + (36 x 12)
= 96 + 432
= 528 square feet.

Answer:

528 sq feet

Explanation:

Given that

The width of triangular tent is = 16 ft

The height of triangular tent is = 6 ft

Length of triangular tent is = 12ft

The measurement of side length = 10 ft

Note: figure given below can be helpful in visualizing the problem.

The material required can be calculated by calculating the area of the figure show. As we can see the two sides of our tent are rectangular and other two sides are triangular whose base (width of tent) and height is given as well.

Area of figure = 2 x Area of rectangular region of tent + 2x Area of triangle region of Tent + Area of base rectangle

Area of figure = 2x12x10 +2x0.5x16x6 + 16x12

Area of figure = 240 + 96 + 192

Area of figure = 528 squares feet

So, the material required is 528 sq feet.
