Greg is in a car at the top of a roller-coaster ride. The distance, d, of the car from the ground as the car descends is determined by the equation d = 144 – 16t2, where t is the number of seconds it takes the car to travel down to each point on the ride. For which interval of time is Greg’s car moving in the air?

The equation
d = 144 - 16 t^(2) describes the relationship of he distance traveled and the time elapsed as one object travels a specified distance. This means that when t is 2 then d is 80. You know that a car is still in the air when the distance is a positive number and zero. The equation only holds true when t is at 0 to 3.
