So we have 6b < 42 divide both sides by 6 here to solve for 'b' 6b < 42 --------- 6 6 b < 7 And then we have 4b + 12 > 8 Subtract both sides by 12 4b > -4 divide both sides by 4 4b > -4 -------- 4 4 b > -1 So the solution would be b > -1 or b < 7
