At a temperature of 280k, the gas in a cylinder has a volume of 20.0 liters.

If the volume of the gas is decreased to 10.0 liters, what must the temperature be for the gas to remain at a constant pressure?

Temperature should be 140k to maintain constant pressure

Answer:

T = 140 K

Step-by-step explanation:

As we know by ideal gas law

PV = nRT

now if pressure of the gas is constant

then we will have

V = (nR)/(P) T

now we have

V_1 = 20.0 litre

T_1 = 280 K

V_2 = 10.0 litre

now from above equation

(20.0)/(10.0) = (280)/(T)

T = 140 K
