The problem gives two temperature and a constant pressure and asks for the resulting volume. The problem is an application of Charles' law. Assuming ideal gas law equation is also applicable,
( V_(1) )/( T_(1) )=
( V_(2) )/( T_(2) ). Substituting volume 1 equals 556 cm3, T1=278 K and T2=231 K, then volume 2 is 462 cm3. Hence, the answer is B.
