In order to determine the exact length and width of the rectangle based on the labels, multiple the labels with that of the scaling ratio. In this example, every 1-inch drawing corresponds to 20 inches in reality. Therefore, the length labeled 2 inches is 40 inches and the width labeled 3.5 inches is 70 inches in reality. Thus, the real dimension of the rectangle is 40 in by 70 in.
