P = 4x + 2y

additional info.
x+2y < 10
y < 2
x > 0
y > 0

y can only be 0, 1, and 2.

x + 2(0) < 10 = x < 10
x + 2(1) < 10 = x + 3 < 10 = x < 10 - 3 = x < 7
x + 2(2) < 10 = x + 4 < 10 = x < 10 - 4 = x < 6

x = 10 ; y = 0 : P = 4(10) + 2(0) = 40 + 0 = 40
x = 7 ; y = 1 : P = 4(7) + 2(1) = 28 + 2 = 30
x = 6 ; y = 2 : P = 4(6) + 2(2) = 24 + 4 = 28

The maximum value of P is 40. Where x is 10 and y is 0.
