The correct answer is Franklin Roosevelt's landslide win over Herbert Hoover.

In the election of 1932, America had entered the Great Depression. The economy was awful, as unemployment rates reached nearly 20% while homelessness increased rapidly. Many Americans blamed the lack of economic recovery on President Herbert Hoover. Hoover was an advovcate of laissez faire economics, meaning the government should get involved as little as possible.

Franklin Roosevelt, on the other hand, developed the idea of a "New Deal." This New Deal would result in huge government intervention in the economy in order to help get people back to work. This idea of having the government help citizens during a time of need became wildly popular. This is why Roosevelt carried 42 states in the election and won over 400 electoral votes.

The answer to your question is the landslide. The landslide victory best indicates that Americans supported Franklin Roosevelt's proposed economic and business policies in 1932. The election was against the Republican, Herbert Hoover which was the period of the Great Depression.
