journal: Mutations Exercise

10 points
In your journal, write down the sentence THE BIG DOG ATE ONE ANT.

Do a deletion of the letter G. What sentence results?
Using the original sentence, do an insertion of the letter K after the letter B. What sentence results?
Are these chromosomal or point mutations? Do they cause more or less change to the original genetic code than the other type?

These are examples of chromosomal mutations. Between the two, they cause less change to the original genetic code. Point mutations do permanent change to the DNA sequence that makes up a gene.
