Given the two expressions shown below:

A. square root of 64 plus square root of 5
B. square root of 64 plus square root of 4

Which statement best describes the two expressions?
Both are rational.
Both are irrational.
A is rational, but B is irrational.
A is irrational, but B is rational.

A is irrational but b is rational. This is because for b you can work out both square root of 64 (8) and square root of 4 (2). But for a, the square root of 5 is an irrational number :)
