Given: A figure showing shaded squares and unshaded squares

To Determine: The ration of the shaded squares to the unshaded squares

Solution

Count the number of shaded squares and the number of unshaded squares

From the above,

\begin{gathered} N_(shaded)=10 \\ N_(unshaded)=15 \end{gathered}

Therefore, the ratio of the shaded to unshaded squares would be

(N_(shaded))/(N_(unshaded))=(10)/(15)=(2)/(3)

Hence, the ratio of the shaded to unshaded squares is 2/3, OPTION B
