What does the zigzag line in the circuit diagram represent?

A. a source of electrical energy

B. an electrical conductor

C. an electrical resistor

D. an open switch

the zig zags are resistors, the thing on the left is the symbol for a battery. Sometimes a single cell (1.5V); you'd draw a few more plates to show a higher voltage battery. But a DC supply, anyway. The long line is supposed to be the positive terminal.
