The key characteristics of expository prose are style, organization, and appropriate vocabulary. This type of prose should be precise and clear and should not contain any qualifiers such as words like: pretty, very, and little.
When writing expository prose, focus more on using adverbs, adjectives, and verbs to make your writing precise and unique.
