We use the Pythagorean theorem to determine if the side lengths given will result to either a right, acute, or obtuse triangle.

a = 7 ; b = 24 ; c = 26

a² + b² = c² ⇒ right triangle
a² + b² > c² ⇒ acute triangle
a² + b² < c² ⇒ obtuse triangle

7² + 24² = > < 26²
49 + 576 = > < 676
625 < 676 OBTUSE TRIANGLE
