Hi! You forgot the map, but I think I can help you anyway:

The part of the Carolingian Empire (where Charlemagne was the ruler) that later became France is the westernmost part - the part most to the left, I assume.

The middle part later gave rise to Burgundy, and the Eastern part would later be the land of the German princes.
