Sue chooses a dress to wear when she goes out with her parents, but she can wear it only if her parents approve. The probability that Sue selects a black dress is 40%. The probability that Sue's parents approve when she chooses a black  dress is 30%. What is the probability that Sue chooses a 

black  dress and her parents approve?

The probability that she chooses a black dress is 40% or 40/100
The probability that her parents approve of the black dress is 30% or 30/100

The probability that she chooses a black dress and her parents approve is the probability of choosing a black dress times the probability of her parents approving of a black dress, which is 40/100 x 30/100


(40)/(100) *(30)/(100) = (4)/(10)* (3)/(10) = (12)/(100)

So the probability that Sue chooses a black dress that her parents approve is 12%

Probability is finding how many chances can a certain thing happen with the given possible outcomes.
Now let’s find the probability that Sue will wear her Black dress.
=> 30 % probability that her parents approve her to wear black dress
=> 40 % probability that Sue will choose black dress
Probalitity = 30/100 and 40/100
=> 1 200 / 10 000
=> 600 / 5 000
=> 6 / 50
=> 3 / 25

Therefore, the probability that sue will wear the black dress is 3/25 or 12%
