22= 2x=8
subtract 8 from both sides
14=2x
divide both sides by 2
7=x

2x + 8 = 22
The answer is what number 'x' must be.
Here's one way to find out:
Subtract 8 from each side : 2x = 14
Divide each side by 2 :
x = 7
That's the only possible number that 'x' can be.
If 'x' is any
other
number, then 2x+8 is not 22 .
