You can tell by the diagram that there are 9 Carbon atoms, 8 Hydrogen atoms, and 4 Oxygen atoms.
Add the numbers up for a total of 21 Atoms.

There are 21 atoms. There are 9 carbon atoms, 8 hydrogen atoms, and 4 oxygen atoms.
