Part A: Explain why the x-coordinates of the points where the graphs of the equations y = 4−x and y = 2x + 3 intersect are the solutions of the equation 4−x = 2x + 3.

Hello,

The 2 curves (lines) have the same value of y for:

y=4-x
y=2x+3
==>4-x=2x+3
==>3x=1
==>x=1/3
And y=4-1/3=11/3

Sol={(1/3,11/3)}
