You spend $77 shopping. You buy some shirts at $12 each, and spend $5 on food. How many shirts did you buy?

77-5=72
72/12=6

($77 - $5) / ($12) = number of shirts
($72) / ($12) = number of shirts
6 = number of shirts

The answer is above in bold
