We have to use the multiplication principle as we have 4 independent events (4 categories) and they can happen in a certain number of ways.

4 ( kinds of soups)* 5 (kinds of main courses)* 5 (kinds of desserts)*5(kinds of drinks)= 500

The answer is 500 outcomes.
