To figure this problem out, we just have to make them have common denominators, then compare then numerators.

22 is the least common multiple of 11 and 2, so we can multiply the denominators and numerators, so both the denominators are 22.

(5)/(11)= (5*2)/(11*2)= (10)/(22) \\ \\ (1)/(2)= (1*11)/(2*11)= (11)/(22)

11>10 \\ \\ (11)/(22) > (10)/(22)

Since we know that
(11)/(22) > (10)/(22), we know that
(1)/(2) > (5)/(11). Therefore the statement is false.
