An art exhibit is made up of four panels that each have the same height.Part AWrite an expression for the total area in terms of the height, h.Part BThe panels are placed so that each panel touches the corner of one other panel. No sides overlap. Write an expression for the total perimeter of the panels.Panel AreasPanel | Width (ft) A | 5.58 B | 6.02 C | 4.42 D | 3.98

PART A:

In order to write an expression for the total área you take into account that the are of a rectngle is given by:

A = w*h

where w is the width and h is the height.

In this case you have four panels, then, the total area is the sum of the four areas:

A = AA + AB + AC + AD

All panels have the same heigth h but different widths. By using the information on the table for the widths of the panels, you have that the total area is:

A = 5.58h + 6.02h + 4.42h + 3.98h

you sum similar terms:

A = 20h

Hence, the totsl area of the panels is 20h

PART B:

The perimeter of each panel is given by:

P = 2w + 2h

The total perimeter of the panels is the sum of the perimeter for each panel:

P = PA + PB + PC + PD

you replace in the previous expression:

P = 2(5.58) + 2h + 2(6.02) + 2h + 2(4.42) + 2h + 2(3.98) + 2h

P = 40 + 8h
