Ground water has some minerals dissolved in it. If you heat this water, collect the vapor in another container, and then cool it, you will get pure, or distilled, water. What makes this process a physical change

The process of osmosis separates the mixture by changing the state of the water and making it a gas. Changing states is a form of physical change.

Answer:

Only physical and state changes are happening, without forming other substances.

Step-by-step explanation:

A process can be chemical or physical. A chemical process occurs when a reaction is taking place, so new substances are being formed, the bonds between atoms are being broken and new ones are being formed. On the other hand, a physical process occurs when only a phase change or a state change is happening, such as an increase in temperature.

Then, the process described doesn't form other substances, it's only happening a physical change (vapor to liquid).
