Which of the following offers the best example of formal diction? (4 points)

" If you will but let me go free for one short hour this night."
"A remarkable nose, if I may say so, a most remarkable nose."

I would say the first sentence is the best example of formal diction. It "sounds" formal. In other words, it uses lofty phrases to make it sound like someone very important (or ancient) is saying those words. Hope this helps.
