Answer: cytoskeleton
The cytoskeleton is composed of may microtubules, microfilamens and intermediate filaments. Its main function is to act as a support to the cell and help keep its shape. Cytoskeletons are very important in animal cells considering the fact that animal cells do not have cell walls.
