3x-7=5x+19

First move all the numbers without "x" to one side and move all the numbers with "x" to the other side by adding/subtracting

3x-7+7=5x+19+7

3x=5x+19+7

3x-5x=5x-5x+19+7

3x-5x=19+7

Simplify

-2x=26

Divide

(-2x)/(-2) = (26)/(-2)

x=-13

To check your work, plug in the value of x you got back into the original equation

3(-13)-7=5(-13)+19

-39-7=-63+19

-46=-46
Both sides are equal so the answer is right!
