Internal punctuations are punctuations that go inside or in the middle of a sentence such as commas, colons, semi-colons, dashes, parentheses, brackets, ellipsis. On the other hand, the type of punctuation that is not used inside a sentence is the end punctuation. Examples of which are the period, question mark and the exclamation point.
